Dai Inagaki completed his training in 1995, but began to exhibit much earlier, having shown his work for the past 25 years. The primary medium for his work is metal, on which he applies paints and finishes to control its lustre, and hammers to create textural depth. The result is a look which is clear and simple while also refined and special.
This sake cup was produced in copper - while the inner surface retains the metal's characteristic pink hue, the outer surface has been treated with a dark finish to mute the colour. The entire cup has then been hammered for texture. The cup has a tapered base for ease of holding. Handmade.
